The Pope

The Pope himself will be in Rio tomorrow, just as DD leaves! Here is one of the sand sculptures to commemorate his visit for JMJ (Jornada Mundial da Joventude or World Youth Day). The more raunchy sculptures have been reworked to hide the famous Brazilian 'bundas' or backsides from view!

The traffic will get complicated as he is due to arrive at the airport just as Dd gets there to check-in. I'd accompany her out if I thought he'd let me hitch a lift in the Popemobile on the way back in (he's going to get some priority lanes dedicated to him) but not sure if a 6' 3'' Scottish Protestant in flip flops will cut the Papal mustard. Mind you, he looks an understanding guy, so maybe worth tuning in on your TVs in case I can give you a wave....talking about 'Saving Lives'!
