Southampton Harbour
Apologies for the quality of the pic. It was the best I could do from the window of the ferry from Southampton to West Cowes on the Isle of Wight. The reason I insist on blipping it is because the last time I was at Southampton Harbour was May 1960 when we were heading to Australia on the SS Fairsky. £10 each for Mum & Dad, my brother & I going for free.
It is a sad irony that Australia, one of the world's richest countries, has now closed its doors to those 'arriving by boat' i.e. refugees & asylum seekers. Instead, they will be diverted to one of the world's poorest countries, Papua New Guinea.
