A pair of Kingfishers .

A poor shot of this pair of king fishers but I didn’t want to hang around and disturb them. I had just seen an egret fishing in the river and then came across these two ! The River Darwen was very badly polluted until fairly recently and with all the discharges of effluent into so many of our rivers I hadn’t expected to see feathered fishers on this stretch, it’s pretty busy too, being a favourite place for dog walkers , families , couples and practically everyone else who lives in BB .
