Out & About
This morning was the annual Sea Sunday Parade. The plan for us all to attend went 'out the window' quite quickly. Dressed in my RNA finery including "Chains of Office" I arrived on the Moor in plenty of time so I could have a chat and catch up with some of the guys that I only see on these parades.
I had been nominated to read the second lesson during the service;
Mark 6:45 to 52 - Jesus walks on the sea. It appeared to go well.
Following the service the parade moved to the NMMC for 'smally eats' and for some of us a tot of Pussers. After an hour of mingling with the great and good Clare rang to say we had an emergency which gave me the reason to slip away.
Home, changed and coffee'd I set off with Samantha and Joshua to get Josh his new wetsuit and what a wetsuit it is. Top of the range, multicoloured, with no back zip it will last him at least a couple of years. We headed for Newquay and a sandwich, stopping off at Spitfire Corner to view one of the two Spitfires that the enthusiast keeps in his garden, the one in the picture above is in the Polish Squadron colours.
Huge sandwiches, milk shakes, strawberries and cream plus a knickerbocker glory later the children were full (sandwich + coffee only for me) so we headed home to Falmouth where we met Clare and piled into the Harbour Lights for fish and chips!
The children should now not need feeding until Wednesday!!
