blast from the past

After breakfast we took the train back into Munich to catch the train home to Berlin. We had 30 minutes or so, so we walked around the block. Munich railway station is not very pretty, essentially a concrete shed. Around the station there are a lot of construction sites. The unstoppable death of department stores can also be seen here. It did uncover a blast of the past. When I was little my gran took me to the Hertie in the big city when I visited her. It is quite amazing seeing all the people wearing traditional costumes, the Oktoberfest is in full swing. It was nice to go away for a few days and catch up with our friends.
