Clan Donald

A day of discovery. In anticipation of attending the McMinnville Scottish Festival, I researched my heritage. My grandmother’s maiden name was McDonald, so I have always known I have Scottish roots. On research, I found my great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather, Jared McDonald. He was born in Scotland in 1740, and died in Virginia in 1808. Great conversation today at the Donald/MacDonald Clan booth at the McMinnville fest with host Tom McDonald, who gave me an application to the Clan Donald membership. We strolled the grounds, listened to some pipe and drums, and watched some games, including the caber toss.

To all of my Scottish blip friends, I may be your shirt tail relative. This was a great day.
