Silly Hay Bales
There was no immediate need to get up early; I read all my correspondence in my comfy bed. The weather beaconed me out to the front porch for breakfast and prayers. Just as I finished my shower, Jamie called to invite me to join his family at a local distillery for Devyn’s (Abi’s boyfriend) birthday. I had to pick up my pound cake from the fall festival. I won it for a steal. It tastes very close to my mother’s pound cake. On the way back, I saw this silly scene in a farmer’s field and knew I had to stop. I filled up my gas tank and got home just in time to be picked up. Jamie bought me an apple cider with bourbon drink - not my favorite and probably the first time I ever tasted whiskey. He had to drink most of it. But I appreciated his gesture to get me in the spirit of Fall. Parker brought me home in time to get in my car and head to 5:00 pm Mass. I am hopefully finishing up most of the leftovers. Kim says we are going to Mexican after Brooklyn’s game - I am so ready for a change from BBQ and beans. Renee forgets I am old and old folks have a much smaller appetite! Then I’ll see how long I can read before it’s lights out. Hubby was in Athens today and reported that it was raining but still fun. Wishing you clear skies. Stay safe. Thanks for dropping by and leaving gifts. “And all at once, Summer collapsed into Fall…” - Oscar Wilde
