Scullery Maids and See-Sawing
What a glorious day it's been, apart from being a cold start it was very sunny and even became quite warm. Can't seem to make it's mind up, still hanging onto summer by the skin of it's teeth!
We had a dinner today, not a full blown Sunday dinner, on a Saturday, but not far off. The girls wanted to help so started with Bella putting the peeled and cut potatoes into the pot but then they spotted the broccoli and brussels. They insisted on helping so armed with sharp knives, yes I know they give us heart attacks watching them, they cut up the vegetables. They actually did a great job of it, after a bit of guidance on the Brussels when Hetty was in grave danger of cutting of a couple of fingers!
The bottom photo is them playing on the revolving see-saw in the warm sunshine. The green bowl, on the seat, had cheese balls in it. As they spun around they had to try to grab one cheese ball. They got very expert at it but caught this one with Bella almost falling off after twisting herself around to grab a cheese ball. Hetty was in hysterics when this happened, as was Bella and us too.
