Cutting A Diamond

I cut a long piece of wood (3 inches square) into two posts with a 4-sided point, and this was one of the offcuts.  I liked the shape and the grain.

I havent done this before, and I made 4 cuts at an angle across the wood.  It needed a little thought to get it right, but the points worked out very well.

The posts were to make another leaf bin to collect this year's leaf harvest in. We have two that were filled with leaves last Autumn, and I transferred them into one for another year to rot down further.
