Birthday Bliss

A truly appalling day weather-wise here with torrential rain and high winds, with the added joy of high tides forecast for later. We had to nip into Bantry for our flu and Covid jabs and coming back was pretty hairy - floods everywhere, water gushing down from the hills,  gravel and gunge being swept hither and thither and some very wet sheep. I didn't get my jabs either for yesterday, whilst perambulating the estate, I was stung by a wasp on my knuckle.  It was ridiculously painful and today my hand is still swollen and sore . The nurse took a look and went off to consult with a doctor - no go, apparently vaccines and wasp venom do not mix. I have to go back in a week.

Amidst all the gloom and damp, these joyful sunny images of Esme's birthday treat came through the ether. Joe took her for a short break in a house truck, complete with hot tub, hammock and alpacas!  They had a brilliant time!  (Photos taken on Monday/Tuesday - it is now lashing in NZ as well).

And I have finally caught up with results of this week's TT Challenge  488 Earth - lots of inspiring entries full of things emerging from the earth, things crawling in the earth, things made of the earth, tiny edibles  from the earth  and some tiny earthy global views.
Hearts go to the following:
Incredibish- for the fully elemental salt of the Earth'
Skeena- for their beautiful image of their tiny corner of the Earth
60Plus - for the delightful earthenware pots
NickyR - for the tiny but perfectly formed puffball
JohnRH - for his global views, plus joke

Honorable Mentions to the following:
McCaviti- for their gnomic view
KangaZu - for the exuberant yellow shroom
jensphotosfor the  global tinies
Dollydoug- for the beautiful textures of earth and feather
RiverRoamer for the delightful organic collection of tinyness

Thanks to all who joined in and next week's TT Challenge will be continuing the elemental theme with Fire.
