Temple tour

A morning tour of some of Tokyo's shrines, temples and the imperial palace gardens. Taxi to Tokyo station where we boarded the tour bus. Some other famous sights were drive-by only but good to know for future reference. First stop was the Meiji Jingu Shinto shrine. Main shows the Nino Torii which is the largest gate at the shrine. After a walk through the woods to the shrine we headed on the bus to the imperial palace gardens. Unfortunately the forecast rain had arrived too so we didn't venture far from the bus. Extra 1 shows the statue of Kusunoki Masashige who was a famous samurai. Last stop on the tour was at Asakusa to visit the Sensō-ji Buddhist temple. Never seen so many umbrellas. The temple was good too. Extra 2 shows the Hozomon gate which contains two guardian statues and three large lanterns.
