Tarting now and then
A bit of a hazy morning so we wandered into town. We’d essentials like Araldite to buy as a couple of plastic lugs have detached themselves from the fridge door. While in Palmer we did buy some paint too - an April working holiday may be in order.
Then we split up - her to source a big zippy bag, me to source more tarta de manzana. Well, it’s about the only patisserie item which I can ask for in Spanish.
Later, the SK brings to my attention a little BBC item about a film, Harder than the Rock, being released this week, about the Cimarons, a reggae band that I remember very fondly from student days in the 70s. After their gig at the student union someone invited them back to Neil’s flat in Church Street. Yes where Jimmy’s drum kit was, along with a bass and my guitar and 50w Selmer combo amp. And they turned up to jam. Like a dream now. A great party - and a bit dreamlike then too.
