My auld china...

LH caused a bit of excitement on site today when he found this little gem. All the pieces were very close together which led us to hope we would find the rest as I dug deeper, but alas it was not top be. However, it is still quite a find.

The boss, (who knows an awful lot more than me about ceramics) says this is 18th century porcelain imported from china, very high status and essentially the gold standard of its time. A wee saucer.

Not the early medieval cermaic I was hoping for, but nice all the same.
