Goldcrest On A Golden Morning
A lovely sunny morning. I could hear a coal tit calling from the Christmas tree and stood for quite a while trying to locate it. No luck but the twitching foliage gave away the position of this tiny goldcrest. Very unusual to see one without hearing its tinkling, dee-diddly song first. It didn't sing at all. I've chosen this shot as it shows its crest and one of its yellow feet. Lovely that the birds are starting to show themselves after the moult.
It's perched on a bramble that is climbing up the Christmas tree. I'm hoping to get John and James to tackle these brambles when they come to cut the front hedge. I hate brambles, we have so many and they're getting me down.
