Fittie Blip

Unusually while I was at the entrance to the harbour I saw two fishing boats, one tied up in the harbour and the other just coming in laden with creels. The latter was quite small but the former, the Martin Michiel, is a substantial Dutch owned trawler. Looking up the ship on the Internet I discovered she has been converted to an offshore support vessel, so her presence in Aberdeen harbour is less surprising.

Instead the picture is taken in Fittie, the former fishing village next to the entrance to the harbour. Many of the residents take great care to decorate their houses and outhouses with decorations and plants. Some might be a little eccentric with an excess of gnomes or other decorations, others are more conventional. Maybe this one falls somewhere in the middle. The windows of the outhouse are decorated in a manner which might not be totally to my taste, a bit over done, the array of potted plants appears well cared for, the overall effect is quite colourful.

Weather in Aberdeen remained cool today, though slightly better than yesterday. I think I should have headed for the hills again in search of warmth and sunshine.
