Calm

Today I worked steadily, but got a feeling of calm before the storm, as I prepared slides for the two talks I'll give next week at a workshop for an industrial user of HiGHS. They've asked for explanations on how to change parameters controlling the solver that I'm still only starting to understand. My tactic will be to demonstrate why they shouldn't try to change the defaults.

The day was pleasantly interrupted by daughter K arriving just before lunch. She was here to collect her new glasses, but was pleased to eat reheated fish pie. She also printed a form she needs to complete. I also had a chat with A.

I cooked in the early evening, but it was still going dark when I went out with Django after eating, and not the pretty low sunlight that the day had promised.
