More beautiful fungi
I had a bad night's sleep, I woke up at 3.30am and could not go back to sleep. Unfortunately, as I know I have to be up to let Xena out and give her breakfast and get on with the day, I don't have the luxury of sleeping in after a bad night. I am not feeling well with this cold and not having sleep has made me feel even worse today.
I had to leave the house by 8.30am to take the car for a service and MOT, and because of road works my 20 minute journey turned into a 50 minute trip. Then the garage was chaotic and so busy, and as everyone was getting loan cars while their cars were being serviced it took ages so I finally got home again after 10.30am, using the loan car.
It was sunny and dry today, I took Xena to the woods and went looking for fungi again - I saw so many Fly Agarics today but they were surrounded by very prickly branches so I got a bit scratched trying to clear them away.
I finally uploaded my entries for the SPA (Surrey Photographic Association) competition which I have to attend in person next month. It's always good to see all the other entries as the standard is very high.
I was not able to go get the car back as it needed new tyres to pass the MOT and they had to order them in, so that was a bit of bad luck, especially as they cost so much.
But I also had some very good news today too - I was contacted by the organisers of the Leica photography competition I had entered in September to say they had over 800 entries and two images of mine have been selected as part of the 12 finalist images. I have been invited to a finalists reception evening in November where they will announce the winner.
I have been feeling grotty all day (I did another Covid test which again was negative) and I hardly had the energy to take Xena for two walks today, but these things have to happen regardless of how I am feeling. Fingers crossed I have a better night's sleep tonight.
