The good ship Maryhill of Glasgow.
Makes a bit of a change from the usual residential narrowboats although I believe “Maryhill” is equipped with accommodation.
Caught her puttering westward on the Forth & Clyde canal this morning.
“Maryhill” is a miniature of the old Clyde puffers, small coastal freighters which used to ply the Clyde estuary and right up the west coast and all the islands. Please read the Para Handy tales by Neil Munro for more on the puffers and a good laugh.
