First and last?!

Today has been spectacular! We reversed the end of our other ride out of Orgiva and headed straight uphill - not the kindest of starts after a wildly windy and humid night in the van. Two Spanish ibex kept our spirits up and we eventually reached Torviscon and the start of our second climb… the hard one!

Rich was clearly on a mission because he didn’t want to stop at the cafe so we had a quick bar, said hi to the dog from yesterday who poked his head through my arm as I was stretching - keen to find the source of the cheese sandwich. And then we were off. It was a fairly steep start! Rich said he hoped there wouldn’t be too many more hairpins like this one… but there were!

The road was stunning and picked its way up a beautiful ridge line. Rich had bought me Simon Warren’s 100 Climbs in Spain. I pointed out this was my first one. Rich pointed out this was his last one!

I knew the top section from a few years ago so once we popped out at the top, we has a couple of kilometres before a cafe at Haza del Lino and then a wondrous descent back to Orgiva.

Cracking few hours and plenty of time for an afternoon chill.
