CANAL FOOT AND FLETCH

A really lovely day today.  I met up with CumbriaLass and Fletch (at last).  We met up in Booths Car Park in Ulverston to go down to Canal Foot by car.  Canal Foot is very picturesque but has limited parking so we thought we'd share.

I haven't been down here for a long time.  In fact the first time I knew about this place was during the pandemic when we had to go very near Canal Foot to have our very first covid vaccinations.  It's really busy at the weekends and holidays but during the week it's not usually too bad, especially in October it seems!!!

The small car park was already full when we got there, due to the lovely weather no doubt but we managed to park on the side of the road.

Met a few people but not overcrowded at all.  Some amazing reflections in one of the houses and a larger than usual train going over the viaduct.

We then went into The Bay Horse and had a very nice crab sandwich and some elderflower presse.  Well behaved dogs on leads are allowed into the bar so that was good.

After lunch we then went back to Booths and then said our farewells and came home.  I have to be home because I have my covid jab this afteroon, in about an hour's time actually eeeeeekkkkkk - the needlephobia is beginning to kick in, but I'd sooner have it than not.

That's all from me for today.  I will catch up with you as soon as I can.  Do take care and stay safe and I will see you all tomorrow.

We then had a lovely little walk around.  Saw lots of birds and a fisherman.  We were also very lucky as there was activity on the water.  There were motored dinghies filled with people going back and forth then there were 4 pontoons, all heading to the viaduct over there as well.  We got chatting to a couple of the workmen on the little pier and they said there were doing high tide work on the aquaduct hence all the activity.
