Not my best work

It’s been a day of ups and downs.

Arnie’s appointment with his ophthalmologist started well from our perspective with her technician doing routine tests.

He wasn’t able to read much at all of the chart, but with the addition of a small frame with open dots, he could read to the second last row. He has no recollection of when he was last able to do that.

Fast forward half an hour or so, more tests showed his eye was a bit out from the prescription that had been inserted into his eye so progress is going to be a good bit slower than the medical staff anticipated.

So, for now, our planned trip to the Kruger and beyond is on hold. Way more important is the goal of getting Arnie to see the Wilde beasties than taking a trip that is going to cause nothing but frustration.

To protect his eye it was suggested he wear the guard, stuck on with surgical tape, which I thought we had. Turns out micropore doesn’t quite meet the challenge, but hopefully it will last until morning.

This has been one hell of a year!
