Calatayud

Today it was damp - and grey - so Simon took me for a run into the country, towards Madrid. There appeared to be many fields of fruit trees, some vines for the local wine and many wind turbines and solar panels. Spain has huge numbers of turbines on the hills everywhere. We went to a city called Calatayud which had many Arab inspired buildings and a huge (destroyed) castle on the outskirts - the Castillo Mayor del Emir Ayyub Ibn Aviv - which we wandered around. The views were amazing from up on that hill! The drizzle persisted so eventually we came home to get the kids off the school bus.
Played games with them for a while before they went off to do homework. Such fun enjoying time with them.  They're growing up delightfully - so good to see how happy and settled they now are in Zaragoza. Took them a while after coming back from Washington DC - the pandemic kicked in just as they arrived here so took a while for them to get to meet kids of their own age etc.
Most school work is done on the iPads - different generation to their parents definitely!
Home tomorrow - time here has gone fast.
