Blurb - Kravica waterfall

It was sunny today so Mr C tried to tidy up a bit in the garden. It’ll be a long job.

I finished the Western Balkans Blurb book - it just awaits a map of the route. The book is in 2 parts - we went to Albania, Kosovo and North Macedonia earlier in the year and this trip was to Montenegro and Bosnia Hercegovina - plus the Republik of Srpksa which we had not known existed. It’s not recognised by the UN as a separate country.

Now I must order my spring bulbs from Peter Nyssen - another job I have been putting off. Though I did ring the RVI about the glaucoma check. The last one was April 2023 and I’m supposed to have them every 9 months. I have rung a few times over the year and been told the doctors were on strike or there was a Covid backlog and they’d be in touch. This time I got offered one tomorrow - no explanation about why I’d fallen off the radar. I have a lot in the diary but got one for later this month.

Then the dentist relieved me of £28.80 for a check up. I’m ok for 6 months unless anything breaks or falls off.

Chloe sent a link to a Guardian article saying how trendy avocado bathrooms were again. We have talked for years about moving stuff around to make room in the downstairs bathroom for a shower so today Mr C spoke to Chris along the road about getting a quote. I think he was prompted by getting junk mail offered to “future-proof” our house with a stair lift. (We also got adverts for funeral parlours). Obviously I’m not bothered about how trendy or otherwise the avocado is - I just don’t see the need to replace stuff that isn’t broken. (We don’t have a smart TV either though it’s a shame we binned our turntable now vinyl is back).

I’m off to cook something with the last of the courgettes.
