WideWednesday...Historical

This sweet little house, Barnsley Cottage, is part of the story of the Hull and Barnsley railway which opened a southern terminus here in1898. It additionally operated for passengers, as a single platform on Station Road in 1902, but was not successful, and closed in 1921. This cottage was the former ticket office, and the former substantial station house, is in extras.
I've passed it many times, and today it got photographed for the challenge
Had a nice walk with G, and a cuppa afterwards, then home to mess about and relax...
