City Temple

I posted an image of cranes from my flat a couple of weeks ago.  This morning, while walking to have a medical (all OK so far, a few test results still to come), I spotted where 3 of the cranes were working.  The City Temple is getting a makeover.

It was dedicated in 1874 as the nearest thing to a Nonconformist cathedral in London. Amost totally destroyed in the WW2 fire-bombing, it was rebuilt and reopened by the Queen Mother in 1958.  It's now showing its age and is being remodelled to provide some secular as well as religious space.
