Clearing up after Helene

Tuesday
It was a grey day today, but warm and mainly dry. After phone calls with Roger’s Dad and his sister Janet, we both set to, clearing the tree debris, littering our back grass and patio, the remnants of Storm Helene. We came off quite lightly compared to a couple of neighbours, who lost whole trees, judging from the piles of large branches piled up on the curbside. We filled our large garden refuse bin, even with R getting in it and stamping on it a few times (!), by which time we had got most of it up. The mower should manage the rest in a day or so, when we feel it’s dry enough to cut. After that, I did some Spanish Duolingo, and some laundry and ironing.
