Plastic Posies

Many “modern” graveyards have eliminated traditional memorials in favor of ground-level plaques. The idea was apparently to make cemeteries look like parks - more esthetically pleasing. I’m not sure the addition of plastic flowers by every plaque does anything to help that goal.
I just wonder if any of the poor souls buried there realized that their most visible memorial would be a plastic posy?
