most amazing lighting conditions ever...

dark, slightly overcast, blue twilight sunset, variable cloud thickness, water reflections...

There's no way an image can capture how beautiful this was. I tried many times and this is the best I got. It was out of the this world, it was sublime, it was the light of heaven, filtered through a bit of hell's residue. The subtle tonal variations, rich blue-blue-grays, strangely contrasting cloud/light/water/horizon...and the light of that ship sailing away. it was all just so surreal and I really wanted to share.

It's been a long, tough week, but this just about made the juice worth the squeeze, if you know what I mean.
