Hard time ahead
It's this time of year again. The grape harvest has not been completed yet, but murmurations of starlings are sweeping down to feed before heading South. To protect the grapes, some winegrowers use shooting noises to scare them away. This means, Djeili is terrified the whole day and won't leave the house (most times, she won't even leave the shower where she feels safe).
I cannot take her on walks from our house, but have her to drive until we are outside the hearing area of the wine-goring region we are in. This takes at least 20 min per drive.
My working days are especially hard. Djeili needs three walks a day. My working hours are 8:40 per day, lunch and other breaks are not counted. Three times of driving 20 min out and another 20 min back in, add at least 30 mins of walking, so at least 1:10 times 3 for Djeili walks. Add an average of 3 hours that I need to invest to take care of the horse properly.
When I am working not from home, but in the office in Zurich like tomorrow, you need to add two hours for me to get there, plus two hours to get back. Plus, these days, I cannot walk with Djeili to the train station but need to take the car to use the train station 15 min drive from here...
Doesn't leave much time to take care of the house and myself.
