Almost missed photo opportunity

As I was roaming around the garden shirtless on a very hot day, looking for photo opportunities, I felt something on my bare right shoulder. It was this rather large insect carrying its dead prey. It is extremely difficult to contort my body enough to get the camera far enough away from a subject on my right shoulder, focus the camera and then press the shutter release with my left hand. As I began to attempt this the insect flew off, only to land a short distance away and wait patiently while I took a few photos.
