Grey Heron

Three heron today. The little female (pictured) was waiting on a tenement roof for me. She flew down to the slope had a feed and made for the clearing. The original young one was at her clearing so got a feed before I move on the little female. I saw the original young one making for the third clearing so I headed there. Much to my surprise one of this year's chicks (extra) was there as well. I threw a bit of fish to it (expecting it to fly off.but it picked it up and ate it. the young one chased it but it flew a bit further back, within throwing distance and was happy to jump into the water for several bits of fish. That is another generation being fed.
