National Geographic Won't Be Calling Me ...

Today we are visiting the tiny village of Elfin Cove in Southeast Alaska.  When I say "tiny", I mean it.  The population is a whopping 7 people!  There are no roads here, and the only way to access this place is by air or boat.

We boarded a whale-watching vessel and set off to see what we could find.  We did spot a couple of humpbacks, but they were fairly far off and didn't much seem to want to pose nicely for us.  This is the one and only whale shot I got ... and the picture below it is primarily the reason why!!!!

The scenery is absolutely breathtaking, with majestic, rugged snow-covered mountains and surrounding foothills covered in emerald green Sitka Spruce trees, and wispy cloud ribbons decorate the hillsides, weaving between the vegetation.  (See extra)
