Lochearnhead

Day out (and we managed to persuade all the kids to come)...headed for Perthshire as we thought the beaches would be busy.

The highland Games were on at Lochearnhead and it seemed a perfect place to stop.

27 degrees. Blue sky. Races, Tug of war, Hammer Throwing, Highland Dancing, and more bagpipes than you could toss a caber at! Perfect Highland Hospitality.

It hosted the gathering of the clans MacGregor (Mr S's grandmother!), MacLaren, Stewart of Strathearn and Macnab. Even the parking attendants were in kilts (with beer in hand!).

I laughed at the cheekily names -'Spinsters Race' - bet there's a history surrounding that one!

There was even a bi-plane doing loop the loops.

And we managed to squeeze in a paddle at the Loch.

Back home, we even mustered the strength up to go see Despicable Me 2!

A great day.
