RUDDY DARTER

'Scuse my language. I thought it might be a bit too cold for dragonflies today but there were plenty of midges and gnats to tempt them and I spotted a few out hunting. I managed to see where this rather faded-looking Ruddy Darter landed so that's my blip. I thought there might be something to see from the local bird club hide but there wasn't a spare seat in the place. There were loud conversations comparing the size and merits of various lenses and other bits of kit, and the birds seemed to be hiding across the other side of the water, so I left them all to it and came home with my dragonfly blip.
