Life in Sunny Dubai

Mosaic

(29/9/24)

I was happily doing my WFH stint when suddenly, I heard the door open, and G was standing in the corridor! Her 4get-me-not outing to Oli Oli was over-subscribed, so she got a reprieve. It's just as well. Three outings three days in a row is a bit much. So her weekend started a few hours earlier.

It gave her plenty of time to rest up for the evening. I booked at a restaurant in a hotel opposite the airport to use the second of three complimentary buffet for two vouchers, which I hadn't even noticed that I had. We left early, as I expected traffic to be heavy, and it was. The restaurant (Makan) had the widest door I've ever seen in my whole life. It was probably six metres wide!

The buffet itself and the service - I wouldn't mind if we never went back there again. My blip is of the water feature in the atrium of the hotel. I love the mosaic tile art. Something must have been happening at the airport as traffic was horrendous. It took over 15 minutes to get out of the area near the hotel.
