Good job there are endless things to take photos of in this area because we are struggling - went to the Portrait Gallery yesterday, but there was a demonstration going on in Trafalgar Square, with gazillion police in attendance, which made me very edgy.  I am totally on the side of peaceful protests, but things can easily go awry these days.

Should have prebooked to go to the National Gallery, but didn't and the queue was half a km long - largely because the security was very tight.  There had been a paint throwing protest the day before at one of Van Gogh's pictures, so all bags were being searched.  So we walked away, and have now booked for Tuesday morning.

London reminds me of a gigantic anthill.
