Saturday 28th September 2024...

Ever year on the last Saturday in September the Australian Football League (Australian Rules) (AFL) plays their Grand Final... The season featured 18 clubs and ran from 7 March to 28 September, comprising a 23-match home-and-away season over 25 rounds followed by a four-week finals series featuring the top eight clubs.
The Brisbane Lions (our home team) and the Sydney Swans played in the Grand Final with the Brisbane Lions coming out on top and claiming the Premiership for 2024... It's been 21 years since they won a Grand Final, they played in the Grand Final last year but lost by 4 points... They are in the Guinness Book of Recods as they won the Premiership in 2001, 2002 and 2003... They played in the Grand Final in 2004 but lost to the Collingwood Magpies... We were heavily involved with the club in those years, then Ruben came along in 2005 and everything changed... He's supported them all his 18 years and yesterday he finally got to watch them in TV and win the Grand Final... He was very happy and sung the club song which I videod as we have a video of him at about 4 years of age singing the club song after a home game win when he was a toddler and we'd go to the games...
