So grateful....
The power is back on as of today. We are very lucky to have lights, AC and the ability to cook meals again. After the hurricane Steve and I wondered how long the power would be out.... there were 500,000 outages in Florida alone and 3 million in all of the states affected. We thought maybe it would take a week. I called Manatee County to report we had a power line down, they flagged it and sent 3 utilities trucks the next day. It was important to fix the downed line and I needed to let them know. I think it helped.
I'm so grateful to get back to our comforts. Even though we had flooding in the front and back yard and that situation was very alarming, our troubles seem minimal compared to the destruction elsewhere. I read about what happened to nearby areas today. It is shocking and sad to see this destruction, especially to places we've been to often. We feel so very, very fortunate.
The extra photo is a close-up (under the light so you can read it) of the front necklace hanging from my lamp. It is the favorite necklace made by an artist friend of mine
