School of Fish Lighting

We’ve had another busy (for us) day with my friend Connie. In between talking and catching up we went to Cafe Frida for a coffee for us, and a puppaccino for Spike.

From there we returned to Wildwood Trail to drop Spike  off at home and had just enough time to get to Salt and Stone for lunch. There was no place outside next to the giant koi pond,  and since we chose a fairly quiet table in a corner inside we walked outside (just to make sure we could still walk after a big lunch with wine from the Kunde Winery across the street and finished off with an affogato) to check out the view.

The Kunde  vineyards  were looking very like something in the Langhe or the Tuscan hills of Italy, with its singularly Sonoma Valley craggy volcanic Hood Mountain backdrop.
Even in this dry September weather we were still reminded of what a beautiful place we live in.

We bade good-bye to Connie with promises all around to do it again soon

Today’s photos are the fabulous school of fish and jellyfish lights at Sea Thai bistro where we had dinner last night, and a section of grapevine, a common decor item in Wine Country restaurants, hanging on the wall at Salt and Stone.

RIP Dame Maggie Smith. She will be missed.
