LA BELLA VITA

Poole from Brownsea Island

Weather promising today, so finally made it to Brownsea Island. We got to the Quay just as the 11am boat had departed, but didn't feel too bad as loads of people hadn't got on as full.

Went to the kiosk but advised to pay on Brownsea. The queue was already long, with still 50 minutes wait to the next boat. No way I can stand that long. The nice National Trust lady said we could return in half an hour and she'd get us on the boat.

Lovely ca. 20 minute crossing. Then explored the island for over three hours. Had no idea it was so large, and also not as flat as expected. We visited Saint Mary's church, saw the deer, red squirrels, peacocks, and walked our feet off. Ended up doing over 17,000 steps (Mr B managed 25,000+), has to be a record for me. Shattered now.

Strong winds due tomorrow, and rain
