In Ribadeo
I have returned to the land of the living and feel more like myself. It’s such a relief.
There was a sunrise shoot, but I slept on.
We went into town and found a pharmacy that was still open just before 1pm. Phew! I needed several things, but mainly tissues and a saline nasal spray.
It felt strange to be in the centre of a large town. Geraldine found a small restaurant. People were drinking coffee in the street outside. We were taken to a back room and most of us had the meal of the day. We were the only visitors and it was great to see locals arriving for their meals.
On our way back to the hotel, we had time to stop near a lighthouse and another boiling sea. Here we found red sand slurry and false autumn croci.
Then there was an old hórreo (grain store) near a farm these are characteristic of the region.
Finally we were in “our” beach for sunset. The sun must have set, but we saw little sign of it!
Then a buffet meal at the hotel, organised by Geraldine.
I have continued to improve but still breathless on hills.
