Morgenspaziergang

Today I was up at 08:00, and had three hours before I needed to leave for the airport. It was a lovely sunny autumn morning, so I explored the area - just north of where I was staying previously. Naturally I was guided by Turf, but this took me through a succession of parks and leafy streets - so typical of Berlin.

Suddenly on the Turf map I spotted the avatar of gerald_flux.rc coming towards me rapidly. Cycling, he swung across the road and stopped. He was setting out on a monster ride out of Berlin on his titanium touring bike. I lifted it, and it was absurdly light.

Back at the hotel, I showered, finished packing, took the two nearby zones that Gerald had taken off me, and set off for the airport. There I caught up with my PhD student B. In Edinburgh I waited for my other new PhD student (Y) to arrive from Bordeaux - with her 100+ kilos of luggage - and paid for a taxi (that I'll claim in expenses) to take us into Edinburgh. I left her with her new roommate, and am on a 37 home. Only Kermit will be waiting for me, since A is in Glasgow, and Django is with daughter K!
