Here Be A Dragon
It was Saturday - a blessed escape from stupid management ideas and also a chance to go out for dinner.
My appetite is always affected by stress. Not in the eating-more-way but in the eating-virtually-nothing-way. There have been times where I've eaten nothing for a week - and I mean nothing. This last week the average has been a slice of toast per day. Everything to do with stress.
Tonight, however, I managed a starter in the restaurant - that would usually have been enough for 3 days. My upcoming holiday can't get here fast enough.
Once upon a time I was a trencherman* when it came to eating. I would eat everything put in front of me. No problem. Now I'm looking for the smallest portion on the menu. And even that can be a challenge.
*Not in the sense that I would be a sponger or a hanger on but more in the original sense of being a hearty eater. In medieval times a trencher was a flat round of bread on which food would be served, it would soak up all the juices, gravy and so on and when you finished your meal you could eat the bread. Your odd fact of the day.
