Sun and autumnal colours..
So nice to wake up to a sun after the two days of lots of rain. This part of the garden is still looking nice. The impatiens have done so well this year..and should be OK until the first frost. I bought the first lot in June and a second batch ant end of July so they have lasted well. All the hydrangeas are similar colours now whether they were pink or white! The acres are just about to change colour too.
After watching the grandchildren play football this morning , they won 3-1, a quick Libby walk and then I have spent quite a long time planting a few pots of bulbs.
Warning……Do not buy bulbs from the Radio Times!
For the last few years I have bought from Sarah Raven and always been pleased with them but they are pricey so thought I would try RT as looked like lots for the price but…..some are not labelled as per they were on the website, they come with no instructions at all. Nothing about depth of planting or when they flower as there are lots of different alliums in a collection so had to look it all up, and the bulbs look smaller than I would expect. Eg tete a tete bulbs smaller than the equivalent cheap ones in my local garden centre which always do well in pots.
So will have to wait and see.
