And the sun shone

Alice is here for the weekend. We haven’t seen her in a while so it’s lovely to have her around. She will be eighteen on Tuesday but that’s not why she’s here - she will be home by then. It’s her Grandad’s birthday tomorrow, but that’s not why she’s here either. Coincidence in both cases.

More exciting than a birthday. Alice is in her last year at school and is thinking about university. A while back she asked her Grandad if he would go with her to an Open Day at Newcastle. He was pleased to say yes, even though it meant he missed a Carlisle game - can there be a greater sacrifice! He has spent a lot of time over the years helping students with further education choices so he knows something about it.

So the two set off early this morning and got the train from Carlisle. They seem to have had a great time and Alice is apparently buzzing. Blip sent to me by G.
