At the City Observatory

M and I chose to go on a telescope tour at the City observatory on Calton Hill as part of doors open door.  There was a few things open on Calton Hill, but we were a little short of time so will do the other buildings next year. The telescope tour ticked all the boxes for me and was very well led by The Astonomical Society of Edinburgh. (Who are very active and offer many events each month).
I had a quick lunch before taking mum to the Royal Edinburgh Community garden, for their doors open day. This was a very good occasion. 
I still have things to do this evening mostly relating to tomorrow's canal stall.
