A crazy windy wild night

Hurricane Helene really came down on us but we are good.

Limbs and leaves all over the yard, one tree down that just missed landing on the truck. The power is out with no timeframe of when it will be restored. So many trees down and power poles snapped in half. Our water supply is a well so no power means no water. I had stored water yesterday in containers so we have some for drinking and a little hygiene. I put perishables like milk and lunch meat in the freezer part of the refrigerator. It will stay colder longer that way.

A country girl can survive. We have a gas grill with a burner for a pot. Our camping coffee pot did a good job this morning making coffee. Cooking is not a problem.


I was in the yard picking up limbs and saw this little guy. My heart was happy. It never went inside its shell even when I got close to it with the phone for this photo.

A sign that every little thing will be alright. It is also perfect fall weather now. A light breeze to keep it from getting too hot, blue sky and sunshine. The birds are here too!

Life is good.
