We had a rather quiet market this morning, but it was good to see Ken back in action!
There was a bit of cold sunshine, which makes a nice change from the dark rain we have been experiencing. My Michaelmas daisies have just opened and are very attractive to the few late bumblebees around. This one is a Common Carder bee. In recent years some bumblebee nests have been continuing overwinter, some perhaps this little worker bee is still feeding a brood. She’s obviously enjoying the flowers!
