The Queen's Hall

Blipped while waiting for the bus home with JMac after a lovely concert by the Armonico Consort of Perlogesi's Stabat Mater and Purcell's Dido and Aeneas. I had never heard or seen Dido and Aeneas before and loved the show that they put on for us - they clearly had a whale of a time. 

We were also fascinated by one of the instruments, a theorbo which is a kind of giant bass lute and looks like "a guitar crossed with a giraffe". We wondered how you would take it on a train - or an aeroplane come to that. Maybe they can only perform in the UK as the instrument has to go with them in a specially adapted vehicle...
