Proper poorly and day 10 of no wifi

My human has been feeling ill all week (just a very bad cold she thinks) but yesterday evening she thought she was getting better, so off she went for a few drinks and early dinner with friends. Mmmmm.............. she wasn't getting better. She couldn't even finish her wine and my human NEVER doesn't finish her wine?! She came home early and went straight to bed.

This morning she woke up and still felt ill, but it wasn't raining (our weather app said it was going to rain all day) so she said, 'Trixie, I'll take you down to the beach and then we'll walk around town and pop into the Co-op so that I can buy some paracetamol.' Ann hardly ever takes any medication but she was feeling so ill that she felt she needed a bit of a helping hand. By the time she got home she was exhausted, so she took a couple of paracetamol and went back to bed for a couple of hours. She didn't feel that great when she got up, but she hoovered the living room rug because it was covered in all my hairs, made a chicken curry because the chicken was about to go out of date and took me into the field for a play with my ball because she still thought it might pour with rain. Then she took two more paracetamol and had another snooze.

As for it being 'day 10' of no wifi.......................... long story short...................... we were told on Monday that a new router would be sent out to us which we should get within 48 hours. We had a call back from 'Talktalk' scheduled for between 4-6pm today to make sure it was all up and running correctly. To give credit where credit is due; they've just called us. BUT we still don't have our router?! Grrrrrrrr.................

Apparently, it's out for delivery and should be with us today, but it's 5.15pm now and we still haven't got it. The Yodel tracking thingy shows that the driver has been in the same position for more than three hours, which either suggests that the tracking thingy isn't working or else he's got something far more exciting to do, than get back into his van and deliver our router?!!

Anyway, I went back into the field for another play with my ball, but got worn out after less than 10 mins. I'm lying exhausted on the rug now, but Ann promised me that whatever the weather, and however ill she feels tomorrow, she will take me off on a little adventure. She feels really guilty because I've only had one decent walk a day since Monday and she doesn't really like me playing with my ball every day because she thinks it puts too much strain on my joints. However, she might have to break her promise though, because now Ann has been re-booked a 10-12 slot tomorrow with 'Talktalk' to make sure our router is up and running. Obviously if she doesn't talk to them tomorrow (always assuming our router will actually even arrive today) then it's going to be Monday before she'll get our wifi sorted.

We are so grateful to our very lovely neighbour, Amy, who has let us connect to her wifi. Obviously we haven't told Talktalk this. If we hadn't been able to do this then we would have had no contact with the outside world for 10 days.

My human HATES 'Talktalk'. About 15 years ago she was going to change to them, but they messed her about so much that she vowed, never again. It would seem that their customer service hasn't got any better in the intervening years. And the only reason we're with them now is because they took over Shell Energy and we've still got 9 months of an 18 month contract to run.

…..............And now it's pouring with rain but we're not going anywhere until it's time for my bedtime wee. Apparently YODEL can deliver anytime up till 9pm so we're going to have to stay up till then. Ann feels like she could do with another couple of hours in bed now. Lol!!!
